President of Honduras Juan Orlando Hernández Alvarado was received by the Grand Master of the Sovereign Order of Malta, Fra’ Matthew Festing.

The talks focussed on the Order of Malta’s activities in the central American country and the status of negotiations regarding a cooperation agreement for development of social-health and natural-disaster prevention programmes in Honduras.

Accompanying the President of the Honduras were the President of the National Congress, Mauricio Oliva, the President of the Supreme Court, Jorge Alberto Rivera, and the Minister of the Presidency, Reinaldo Antonio Sanchez.
